Welcome!
My name's Rebecca, and the clashing website url & blog title represents the dual aspect of the blog. My free time and work involve all things exercise-related, and my love life involves being married to a general surgery resident. Why Dr. So & So? I'll most often be referred to as Dr. Hottie's wife- it's going to be a long road of living in the shadow of my surgeon husband, so we may as well make light of the situation.
I grew up in Greensboro, NC (go Tarheels!) & moved to the land of beer and cheese (Madison, WI) to attend college and swim for the Badgers. After graduating with a degree in Political Science and spending some time in the campaigning world, I realized I was more focused on trying to convince people to exercise when traveling and working 60+ hours/week than the politics at hand. With that, I made the transition to coaching swimming and went back to school. In Dec. '13, I completed my M.S. in exercise physiology.
Dr.Hottie graduated from medical school at UW in 2013, & after a whirlwind of celebrating, packing, & drugging our cat for the 20+ hour drive- he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah to start his 6 year residency in general surgery. In January 2014, I joined Dr.H in UT to enjoy a life of multi-tasking. I'm currently a coach, freelance writer, athlete, blogger, and academic tutor for University of UT student-athletes.
