Yesterday Madtown was steamy 95 and sunny with the heat index. My workout plan included doing TRX (if you don't know what it is- it will get its own post soon) outside, but the heat drove me to the cardio room of the gym. I only frequent the cardio room roughly 2x/year. I can do spinning, circuits, and fitness classes but I find the cardio room to generally be a snore.
Thankfully, I made it an hour- I probably won't be back anytime soon but for the gym rats out there here was the workout:
20 min. on treadmill
- 5 min jog, then increase the speed every 5 minute by 0.3-0.5 mph
15 min. on rowing machine
-7 sets of 2 min. (done as 1:30 steady & :30 sec fast)
- 1min warm down
20 min. on elliptical (honestly- who can do the level 20 on resistance??- if you can, you're amazeballs!)
-hit the random button (when the resistance is heavy use your arms- when it's light don't use your arm and focus on leg tempo)
stretch!
