Dr. Hottie finished his burn rotation...pure elation!!...which was immediately followed by dread. Getting used to a new rotation is emotionally and logistically jarring. However much I hated burn, I had gotten used to Dr.H getting home in the 7-8pm range and having the pager go off 3-4x per night on call nights. It was the normal.
This morning, when Dr.H left he said, "See you tomorrow night." The new rotation involves Q3 in house call. Translation: every 3rd day, Dr.H spends all day, all night, and all the next day at the hospital. This week I'll see him ~48 hours. If I didn't have flexible part-time jobs, that time would be dwindled down to 24 hours.
I'm happy Dr. Hottie can get back to doing surgeries he likes and dealing with patients who can actually be fixed, but Q3 in-house call....you suck.
